Boeing Studio 10

School of Business, Diploma in Business Administrations

Throughout this 2 month long applied client project, I managed to work with other students across multiple disciplines such as Media Arts & Design and Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering students. This broadened my perspectives and allowed me to innovate on various types of solutions to offer the client. This project has definitely opened my eyes to more new ways to adopt when problem solving and was a nonetheless a challenge unlike any other.

My biggest takeaways was learning about many new aspects to enhance our solutions such as the mechanics and engineering behind certain product-related solutions and even a User Interface and Experience mode of thinking when adopting intangible solutions. These were all areas that I lacked in when it came to the ideation of the solutions. However, I was grateful to have been able to contribute my upmost when it came to any business-related aspects such as the feasibility of the idea, entrepreneurial innovation, consumer psychology & more!

I’ve learnt a lot from those few weeks under the counsel of Dorothea Lim , Ms Winnie, Mr Siak Koon Goh, Anthea Choo and Mr Roger.

This project pushed me to my limits and forced me to reconsider what it means to be a designer designing for people in the business world. Ms Cynthia Vandewall’s feedbacks brought a unique perspective that I have never considered before prior to this project. She would often bring up how the same ideas could have multiple different uses in order to maximise it. I used to think about ideas within the confines of its intended use. Nowadays I try to adopt a more flexible way of thinking and I have to say, it has increased the quality of my work.

This project was unlike any other school client project that I’ve done thus far as I got to work with students from the Business and Aeronautical Engineering Schools, with a goal that didn’t center around the company’s Branding and Marketing. As such, it gave me a glimpse into a different part of the world and broadened my horizons.

I am immensely grateful to LWC-S for granting us the opportunity to collaborate with students from multi-disciplines to work on the Boeing Studio. This experience proved to be truly unique and fruitful. Engaging in the design thinking process, we delved into understanding passengers’ needs, leading us to innovative solutions aimed at enhancing their in-flight experiences. Working together as a team, we generated a lot of creative ideas. I extend my heartfelt thanks to Mr. Roger Chua from MAE, Mr. Goh Siak Koon from LWC-S, the staff at LWC-S, and all my dedicated teammates for their invaluable contributions.

Being part of the Boeing Studio 7 has been such an enriching one. I am really glad to have learn and work with so many talented and skilled youths from the different schools, which further enhanced this experience. Although we were only given a short 3 weeks to gather responses, think and craft out concepts, we all made it as a team.

Tricity Panasonic Studio

School of Business, Diploma in International Business

It was a mind-blowing 4-week experience in the Panasonic studio. I learnt and attained a lot of different skills and tools such as questionnaire creation, design thinking and market research. But the most important part was the teamwork that my team displayed in the project. Despite coming from different courses, we worked together and utilized each other’s strength to create and to improve on our project. Other than learning skills, I made friends and memories through this project.
