Designing for an Ageing Population

Intuitive interactions naturally take place as an instant response in every moment of our daily lives. How we walk, sit,  eat, sleep, commute, and play, all require some forms of interaction. Thus, these interactions with objects or services are intentionally designed, some for functionality, others for form, and occasionally, for both.

For the Ageing Population, the things that once were naturally straightforward are now intertwined with certain challenges that may be overlooked in the design of daily interactions.

Innovating for the ageing population requires a thoughtful approach that prioritises usability, accessibility, and inclusivity.

  • Designing for the Elderly, with the Elderly.

Innovations that successfully achieve its intended outcome are designed collaboratively with the users themselves to create valid solutions that meet needs. It also provides users a sense of ownership over solving the challenges they face.

  • Simplicity and Clarity

Understanding what is truly needed – barebones, designed to make things simpler, easier, and clearer. Intuitively interacting with a product or service without feeling inconvenienced.
